Marching Into Spring 2008

  Nora Nora's Annual SPRING SHOW!

Maine Yacht Center in Portland, Maine on April 12, 10:00 AM till 5:00 PM.

*The Spring Show at the Maine Yacht Center was a great day. So many new people and all with an appreciation of Irish artistry.  We baked and went through 7 loaves of Irish Soda Bread which everyone loved. My grandmother was a baker and so from the Harrington family, here is that recipe for Irish Soda Bread...In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups Flour, 2 tbl. Sugar, 1 tsp. Salt, 4.5 tsp. Baking Powder, 2 cups whole milk, ( the whole milk really is the key, using skim just doesn't have the richness of the whole milk), and 8 oz Raisins...simply mix all together, grease a round cake pan,  shape dough into round, using small amount of flour to coat hands and place in pan. With sharp knife score a x in the top of the round and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. The last 15 minutes brush milk on the bread top to brown lightly. Let cool and slice with sharp knife.

Enjoy!
